The most common cause of ptosis in aesthetic medicine is due to the inadvertent injection of botulinum toxin into an incorrect area or over-dosing leading to muscle weakness and a subsequent drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow. These guidelines advise on risk factors for ptosis, how to avoid this complication and what to do in the event a ptosis occurs. Martyn is particularly impressed with the sketch of an eye that he did on page 4 of the article.
